Head of the European Investment Bank Office for the Baltics

Currently Virginia Gecaite is heading the Baltics Office of the European Investment Bank, the biggest multilateral financial institution in the world and one of the largest providers of climate finance. In her current role she promotes the Bank’s financial product and services offering to the market players in the Baltics while ensuring the projects are aligned with the strategic objectives of the European Union, such as climate and environment, cohesion, innovation, and sustainable energy. Previously, she held the  role of Senior Loan Officer at  EIB’s Financial Institutions department and was responsible for deploying and structuring financial instruments containing sizeable climate action component  to the counterparties primarily in Northern and CEE. Virginia is an alumnus of the Vilnius University and holds Master’s Degree in Finance from the Suffolk University in Boston, USA.
